Get Lindsay Lohan's Look - Tip of the Day!

We were lucky enough to score an interview with some lovely ladies, Nikki and Riawna, from the Ken Paves Salon in Hollywood. Between the two of them, they have tons of experience, an amazing knowledge bank on the topic, and a crazy client list to boot (think Lindsay Lohan, Colin Farrell, and Eva Longoria). So I rolled what we got from these two into a week's worth of tips so you can look like you just walked out of the Ken Paves Salon.

Lindsay Lohan's long hair is one of her most recognizable features (aside from her beauty, curves, and much gossiped love life of course). Nikki and Riawna, the Ken Paves Salon Great Lengths extension power team, are the hands behind Lindsay's long, gorgeous locks. So just how do they keep Lindsay's hair looking right?

"She keeps her hair looking long, thick and healthy by using Great Lengths Extensions and Coppola (a permanent smoothing treatment)," the duo says. "She either lets her hair dry naturally for a beachy wave or adds a couple tousled curls with a 1 and 1/4 iron. Nothing too perfect, always a little disheveled – that's just Lindsay ... her signature."

Riawna says you can get Lindsay's look with just a few simple steps.

1. "Smooth the hair." Even if you don't get a Coppola treatment like Lindsay, any smoothing styling mousse will work.

2. "Curl with the iron in a vertical position, wrapping around and using a bigger iron versus a smaller one. Wrap in all different directions to make it look imperfect." And, Nikki notes, "just wrap. Don't even open the clamp. The clamp can make hair kink."

3. Next, grab some surf spray. "Bumble and Bumble makes a good one," says Riawna. Then shake the hair out to get that messy, wavy look.

"This works best on people with long hair that's already wavy or curly," Riawna notes.

For more tips from the Ken Paves Salon, check this out!

And the beauty professionals created looks that were clean and minimal.

Hairstylist Eugene Souleiman was inspired by the easiness of the collection. “I wanted the girls to look glamorous and healthy…like West Coast girls from the 80s,” he said. “Like Brooke Shields back in the day.” Souleiman skipped the products (since models hair had been weighed down from previous shows) and used a blow-dryer, curling iron, water, and a brush to rejuvenate locks.

Makeup artist Lisa Butler painted faces in caulky shades of pink to recreate an elegant, yet soft look. “The clothes are like sugared almonds,” said Butler. “They’re really pretty, so I didn’t want to go too girly.”

Priti Nails manicurists rounded things out by painting fingers and toes in a sheer pink lacquer.

As if suffering through six inches heels isn't enough, now women have a new challenge to contend with -- wearing footwear that's basically the same as going barefoot.

Aminaka Wilmont introduced a new shoe during London Fashion Week that's sole-less -- and soulless if you think about the pain women who use this heel are going to feel.Shoes with no soul/sole

(click thumbnails to view gallery)

Aside from the fact that the whole thing has no bottom, the footwear itself is kind of cute. But, to be honest, we can't imagine even the craziest fashionista wearing anything like this on the red carpet. A-listers don't want to ruin their perfectly pedicured tootsies. We're really not sure who Aminaka's target market is. Who can you see using a shoe like this?

Lucky for us, what happens backstage, doesn’t stay backstage.

Veteran fashion photographer Roxanne Lowit has been shooting candid fashion show moments for over 30 years, so she knows a thing or two about what goes on behind-the-scenes.

Lowit’s new book “Backstage Dior,” released today, is an effervescent and whimsical look at John Galliano’s ready-to-wear and couture shows for Christian Dior.

Taken over the last ten years, the mixture of black and white and color photographs vibrantly reflect the rather magical and always high-energy life backstage at a Dior show.

You've probably heard of this "25 Random Things About Me" note craze that's going around Facebook: somebody writes a note containing 25 facts about themselves, then tags 25 people who are supposed to do the same. It's pretty much the same as any other similar chain letter-type of thing that's bounced around the internet since the heydays of AOL and Prodigy, except perhaps for the fact that it doesn't ask you to send a sick kid a postcard at the end. It's hard to decide what's more striking about the craze: people's continued fascination with this sort of thing and their willingness to participate, or the media's obsession with them. It's hard to tell just how many people have taken part on Facebook thus far, but traffic to the site's Notes is four times higher than usual, according to one estimate, with 28 percent of Facebook's US users checking out a note at some point in January. As for the media, check out the "mystery" over who originated the 25 Things meme (short answer: nobody has any idea). Maybe the most interesting thing here is how the 25 Things meme plays into the ideal of social currency. For some people, they see the list as a way to enhance their social currency within a community by sharing info that will make others view them more positively. But then there's those of us who have been "tagged" 50 times already, and see any more tags as a way for people to devalue their social currency even further.
